Cabrillo College
Aptos, CA
The Associate in Arts in Studio Arts for Transfer (A.A.-T in Studio Arts) is intended for students who plan to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree in studio arts or a similar major at a CSU campus. The art studio program offers beginning and intermediate courses that provide students with the knowledge and experience needed for a broad understanding of the visual arts. Core curriculum includes drawing and composition, two-dimensional and three-dimensional design, and art history. After completing the required courses, students may advance to intermediate courses and complete their degree by concentrating their course work within the art studio options. Students may also investigate special interests in ART40A-Z classes, approved art photography classes, and/or approved digital media classes.
Art gallery viewing is provided in the Cabrillo Art Gallery, which presents a range of exhibitions of original work by a variety of artists during each academic year. These exhibitions are an integral part of the instructional program. Students participate in additional gallery observations through ART 50L, Gallery Viewing Lab. Museum viewing experience is facilitated through ART 51L, Museum Viewing Lab.
