Certificate of Achievement in Honors Scholar (Certificate)

Cabrillo College

Aptos, CA

The Honors Scholar Certificate of Achievement is awarded to students in the Honors Transfer Program who complete 16 eligible units.  Honors Transfer Program students who complete the Honors Scholar Certificate of Achievement also earn that designation of Honors Scholar on their Cabrillo College transcript and are honored at graduation. They benefit from priority admission into the UCLA College of Letters and Sciences, UC Irvine, and Honors Transfer Council of California member colleges and universities.

The Honors Transfer Program serves high-potential, high-achieving students from all backgrounds, ages, and experiences who seek a challenging academic environment and wish to pursue excellence in their academic careers. Universities look for outstanding students who have done more than meet the minimum transfer requirements. As a result, universities actively pursue honors students. The Honors Transfer Program offers CSU and UC transferable honors courses which include opportunities to conduct challenging outside research, attend stimulating seminars, and read engaging literature. The courses reflect the instructors’ interest in, and commitment to, a rigorous exploration of intellectual, cultural, and social issues.

Students must be accepted into the Honors Transfer Program in order to enroll in honors sections of courses and pursue or achieve this certificate. Application information and deadlines can be found on the Honors Transfer Program webpage of the Cabrillo College website.
