The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care degree program is intended for students who have completed a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) approved associate degree program in the field of respiratory care. The curriculum focuses on advanced level scope of practice, including clinical specialist, interventional pulmonology, and pulmonary diagnostics. The program is limited to 30-40 students and commences in the Fall Quarter.

Program Learning Outcomes

🗸 The graduate will have the skills to implement their role as a health professional and will possess the ethics, values, and knowledge integral to all aspects of the profession with an emphasis on clinical specialist, interventional pulmonology, and pulmonary diagnostics.

Career Opportunities

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of respiratory therapists is projected to grow 13% from 2022 to 2032, much faster than the average for all occupations. About 8,600 openings for respiratory therapists are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.
